RULES

Roleplaying is not serious business.
Don't pretend that it is, I won't believe you. The word "roleplaying" is synonymous with "happy fun pretendy time." If you start feeling dramatic about something that is happening on Cog, please acknowledge how ridiculous you're being and move on. Watching youtube videos about the crisis in Darfur is a good tool for facilitating this effort.

Respect.
Just don't be an asshole. Don't give Cog a bad reputation by badmouthing people on the cbox, even if you think they're idiots with the literary proficiency of an orangutan. If you have an issue with someone, take it off the site.

Don't make more than five characters.
The character limit on Cog is five per person, and even that's a considerable number with a site restriction of one hundred accounts. Please make sure that you can be active with multiple characters before you send in more applications; stagnant, unused accounts just take up space.

Stay active.
Or, more specifically, make sure that you log onto all of your accounts at least once every two weeks. Accounts that haven't been touched for two weeks or more will get deleted (obviously I'm not watching these things like a hawk, but every once in a while I'll do a spontaneous sweep and then you might get screwed). If you think you're going to be absent from the site for a while, just let me know and I'll spare you from activity checks.

Cog has mature content.
The environment of the site can get pretty dark. Members are expected to be able to stomach violence, language, sex and disturbing themes. Even so, please do not go overboard and start treating Cog like a yaoi site. It will make me angry.

Cog has high writing expectations.
You'll never have to comply with a minimum paragraph or sentence requirement, because quality is much more important than quantity on the site, but applications will be expected to demonstrate a high level of writing proficiency.
