So, you would like to apply? Sure, the application form can look pretty challenging, or even overwhelming at first, but here's how to do it, step-by-step!
Read First!
First things first, MAKE SURE to READ OUR RULES before applying!
Step 1-> Check Box.
The first thing you should see is a checkbox that says "Standalone User" above it. It is very important that you check that box so you apply directly for FourSeasons rather then the whole Acorn Rack community.
Step 2-> Change The Application Form Type.
You should notice that checking off that box made a bit of a change in the apply section. That's ok, this how to is here to walk you through this. =)
Step 3-> Username.
Choose a Username. This spot is strictly for the name of the character you are going to be roleplaying, and most likely your main identity on FourSeasons. Make sure you double check the .Character List. to find out whether or not the character you are applying for is taken or available. If you apply for a character that is already taken you will not be accepted. This works on a first come- first served basis, so the quicker you join, the better!
Step 4-> Email.
Enter your Email. This is just so that we have a way to contact you if we think your application needs fine tuning, or any other sort of site related events. You will never be spammed, harassed, or ridiculed from an admin. If you suspect a member of our site is bothering you with rude or otherwise unwanted emails simply contact me, the admin, at FourSeasonsAge@gmail.com, and I will look into the issue as soon as possible. I'm sure you'll notice that there's a second email slot. Make sure to confirm your email in this slot so that way it's confidential and for sure that we have your actual e-mail.
Step 5-> Gender.
Fill in the gender of the character you are going to be roleplaying. Don't fret, there's a designated OOC section on your profile to let everyone know who you really are if you so wish. Male or female? If you don't know, or your character, for whatever reason, doesn't have one, simply put N/A or three question marks.
Step 6-> Age.
Type in your characters age. Keep in mind that demons can tend to be hundreds of years old, whereas humans don't tend to live past 100. If your character's age is never really defined in the anime, or manga, simply put appears: followed by the age the character looks.
Step 7-> Rank.
Time to figure out your characters Rank. This isn't their race, but rather, their species. For example: Kagome is a human character, therefore her Rank would be human, whereas Inu-Yasha is a dog-demon, meaning his rank is the Japanese translation for dog demon, or half demon: Hanyou. The following chart is designed to help you with some ranks. Hanyou: A Half demon, half human. Youkai: A Full Fledged demon. Human: I shouldn't have to explain this one...
Step 8-> Race.
Figure out your character's Race. This is little section for more detail on the character's rank. What kind of Hanyou, Youkai, or Human are you? For example: Inu-Yasha's rank is a Youkai, that makes him a half-demon, however, that doesn't explain what kind of demon he is. Inu-Yasha is a dog demon. That would make his RaceDog Demon. Whereas Kagome would be a human Priestess or, in Japanese terms, a Miko.
Step 9-> Appearance.
Yay! One of the bigger boxes, you're almost there! Time to describe, in detail and words, what your character's Appearance is like. Do they have long or short hair? What color is it? Any markings or scars? What about their skin color? How tall or short are they? What do they wear and what color? How is it placed? Does their appearance change ever? Show off your abilities in descriptive writing. Please try to avoid point form.
Step 10-> History.
You want to make sure you know your character and their History with lots of background information. This is to ensure that you can roleplay that character well enough to stay within their personality at all times. I strongly suggest going to Wikipedia and finding out as much information as you can. Maybe even if you're not confident enough afterwards, go to You Tube and watch some episodes with your character in it to really reinforce your roleplaying abilitie, and perhaps to look up some stuff that maybe you didn't know or couldn't remember before!
Step 11-> Personality.
Ah, yes, Personality. You should for sure be able to explain to everyone what your character is like. How do they act in a crowd, are they friendly or enigmatic? Any kind of shticks or habits that they have can go here too. Again though, show off your roleplaying abilities and use descriptive writing. Please, no point form here either.
Step 12-> RolePlay Sample.
Now, the last box is just as big and important as the others, this box is the Role play sample. Here we want to see your roleplaying abilities as your character, and just overall writing style. Just make up or play out a small scenario for your character and we'll judge, based on your roleplay sample and overall knowledge of your character whether or not you're tip top shape to join Four Seasons.
Creating Your Own Character?
Now, if you're applying as a character that you've created yourself, things run a little bit differently. We judge the character based on their abilities and other things to make sure that we don't have any Mary-Sue's running around on the site. None of those "my character looks exactly like Kagome except for...", "my character is stronger then Inu-Yasha and Sesshoumaru combined!", or "my character is the daughter/son of (insert pairing here)". Be ORIGINAL and create a character that no one else has before!
Also, please be aware that your character CAN NOT have any interactions with cannon characters that alters the cannon character's history or personality! Your character cannot be in love with, or be part of the Inu-Yasha, Sesshoumaru or ANY group of people who travel together on the series, unless you are applying for a cannon character. Simply put, this drops your character right into the "Mary-Sue"/"Gary-Sue" category. It makes your application look unfavorable. Please, please keep these little details in mind when using the Application Page here.
Not sure what happened?
Just to make sure things are nice and easy to understand, if you're not sure about your application or why it didn't get accepted, perhaps check on the Poor Application Sample to make sure that your application is longer then your finger when up on the screen before the Administrators. (Just a side note; Log in as a Guest before clicking on that link or else it will not work.) If you have any questions as to why your application was or was not accepted you can email us at fourseasonsages@gmail.com
Important Current Notices.
Important!
Currently, unless you have a kick arse application that just blows our socks off, we are not accepting any more Wolf Demons. We have a few on the site already and are not in need of more. Please refrain from using wolf or wolf like characters.
