What's Happened Since

Hundreds of years ago, there was a dark Lord named Voldemort, a boy named Harry Potter, and a prophecy concerning the two and the fate of wizard kind itself. ...But that is the past, and now we've plunged into the future. The generation of Harry Potter is long gone, and it's time to make way for a new generation for Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic, and the rest of the Wizarding World.

The wizarding world as a whole has stayed mostly the same- the government has thankfully become a little more organized and fair. Blood purity has become more and more difficult maintain, and real pureblood families have become extremely rare. Now, it's almost impossible to find a family that hasn't had a few halfbloods and muggles slipped into their family trees just to keep it alive. Of course, there's always families that are too proud to admit that they're not really pureblood, so it's impossible to really know who's actually telling the truth and who's just pretending that they're pureblood. Because of this lack of true purebloods, blood purist activity, though not by any means completely gone, has reached an all-time low. The wizarding world seems to be at peace.

In Hogwarts, the houses have remained the same as well as what's taught and what's learned. Little has changed in Hogwarts except for the generations of Professors and students. Many Headmasters and Headmistresses have lead the school, from the first four Founders to the most recent and current, Professor Poseidon Pennington. The Houses have stayed the same, though the purity standards of Slytherin have dropped because of the lack of true purebloods left. It hasn't been uncommon to see a half-blood Slytherin for over a hundred years, though the same cannot be said for muggleborns, who rarely, if ever, are sorted there. All the Houses still hold the same traits they have valued for centuries, as well as the same rivalries.

In the business world, shops have been opening and closing for years, though some of the same have still remained open for so long. But most of the namesake shops have closed when there was finally no one able to carry on the family name, such as Madame Malkin's and Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. But new shops are opening all the time, some with new family generations and some without. But old standards like Quality Quidditch Supplies and Gringott's seem like they will never close down. The same tradition of quality of wizarding merchandise continues for Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, as well as the same... lack of quality in Knockturn Alley.
