The Lands of Abyss is a non-profit freestyle dark fantasy role playing site. Members are encouraged to role play with other members in this game. Here you can be as creative and unique as you want and most immportant, have fun! There are many boards provided for settings of your desire.
We also have several out of character forums so that you may be able to interact on the site on a level of normality.
-Rules-
The rules of The Lands of Abyss are an important aspect of the site.
Please note that the rules are made to ensure the site is fun and easy to use. If any of these rules are broken there will be a punishment carried out. Anything from a warning through private message, a smite or ban, depending on the severity of the action. A smite is the title for the official record of a rule infraction. 3 smites and your account will be suspended for 2 weeks. 5 smites and your account will be banned from the site. If there are any updates on the rules, there will be an Update about said change.
-Updates-
Another important aspect of LOA is the Update forum, located within the OOC forums on the forum page. The admins use this forum to keep you notified of all upcoming changes and acquires possible feedback from the LOA community.
-Questions, Comments, Suggestions-
This OOC forum is exactly what it means. If you have any of these, please feel free to post them. The admins will submit feedback. This is can be used for any help you may need.
-Activity Checks-
Due to process and the inactivity of many members on LOA, the Activity Check forum has been created. The admins will post at least one activity check once a month. Members have two weeks to post within the the check or their account will be considered inactive. After you miss two activity checks, you will recieve a message from an admin to inform you of the situation. If you miss three activity checks without notifying the community of an abscence or quit, your account will be deleted.
-Abscences and/or Quitting-
Please use this forum when needed to keep the community aware of anytime you may not be available for role playing.
In conclusion, we would like you to remember this site is run with the community in mind. Therefore we will not tolerate any sort of harrassment of other members. If such a situation arises for you, we encourage you to contact one of the admins (Lord Death or Gabrielle). We will deal with the situation as quietly as neccessary so that none included are humilated and such however we do not want any of this to happen on the site, so keep that in mind. Private messaging of an admin is perfectly fine for this sort of thing and is encouraged, however plase note that only personal matters should be private messaged to an admin, all else can be posted in the Questions forum,

1. This is a PG-13 to R rated site. That means that there is some gory/sexual/obscene content. (Read the posting rules on this.)
2. No fighting out of character. If your characters don’t get along in the game, don’t make it an OOC thing. We don't need it, and I don't like it. If I see it, you will be warned/smited, or possibly banned.
3. This goes with the above rule. If you do not like a player, don't bring it out on their characters.
4. Treat Admin/Moderators with respect. They were put in that position for a reason, and have worked hard for this site.
5. This goes with rule number four; No bad comments should be made about any Admin/Mod in the forums. If I read a negative comment, you will be smited/banned.
6. This site is not for advertising. If you want to advertise, PM an Admin, and they will look up your site, and see if it is appropriate to be advertised. Then they may post it in the affiliates page.
7. There will be NO information you get OOC used IC. It's just not realistic. Plot things out, but characters cannot know about OOC coversations. I don't care if it's directed towards your character. Pin pointing certian characters is needed in plots. Deal with it.
8. The General Disscussion, Welcome & Random Insanity boards are for talking and ranting and strangeness. If you need an update done, go to the Updates board.
9. If you have a problem with somebody, talk to them OOC. I do not want to see any swearing or badmouthing OOC to anybody. Be calm. Be mature. Figure it out.
10. Each member must have their own account. No shared/double accounts please. It can become confusing. This also means having two characters on one account. Make a separate one for each character.
11. Smites expire within 30 days of acquiring them.
Posting
1. No spamming. This includes flooding. If you spam/flood, that is grounds for immediate banning.
2. Do not GM (godmode) or PP (powerplay) It is not welcome, and you will be warned and/or banned. Furthermore it is rude.
3. You must enter a bio and/or history of your character into the forums before you make 10 posts or you will be smitten. OOC posts are counted as well so be forewarned.
4. In Intermediate Rp areas, you are required to have a minimum of 50 words in character. Advanced Rp areas require a minimum of 150 words in character. If you do not, you will be warned/smitten and your post may be deleted.
5. To create a private post, put P in the topic description and the user name of the other person(s) who it deals with.
6. If it appears you may be getting into an "R-Rated" post, please put "R" on your topic description. If your topic goes from normal to an "R-rated", make a new topic with the R in the description.
7. If you do not think you are getting in a R-Rated, and you do, either fix the topic heading, or put R on the post that you start any R-Rated content, or a warning.
8. I don't care if you swear, but try not to have every other word obscene.
9. When making out of character remarks in an in character forum, make sure you use brackets.
Ex: (OOC: Did you hear?)
IC: The monkey climbed the tree.
10. Please use the proper forum for the proper discussion or story. I'm really tired of seeing this. It's ok to have a random and strange discussion but do so in the designated discussion area and nowhere else...that's why it's there.
Temples + Shrines
1. The temples/Shrines have different rulers with different rules. You will follow these rules or will be warned/smitten. However, NORMAL RULES ALSO APPLY. If a Temple ruler wishes to "bend" any normal rule/s, they must PM an admin to ask. Note: If only one admin knows, the other may or may not know and smite you. Thus, it is a good idea to PM the other if the rules have been approved for altering.
2. Remember to include some of the temple/shrine description in your post, or it will be deleted. (This means you have to roleplay through the obstacles in the temple/shrine description.)
3. You cannot get past a temple guardian unless they let you (Or you acquire OOC permission from the temple's god/dess). You cannot sneak past a guardian, unless another god/goddess, or the guardian's god/goddess grants you some way of doing this. (it's not likely, but you can try to beseech some god/goddess to do this.)
4. All gods/goddesses/demi, if given reason, can powerplay, and godmode, within their temples.
5. All gods/goddesses/demi, if challenged disrespectfully, may godmode/powerplay outside their temples. But it had better be for a good reason.
6. Each temple can harbor two guardians. No more. Various other creatures are seen only as pets.
7. Shrines may have one guardian. No more. Various other creatures are seen only as pets.
Gods + Goddesses + Demis
1. To get a God/Goddess/Demi position, one must go to a inhabited Temple/Shrine and beseech the resident God/dess there to become a higher being. If there is more than two inhabited Temples/Shrines, one must go to at least two God/Goddess/Demi's to get the position.
2. All required information must be filled out, and posted at the bottom of your post to be even acceptable.
3. You may only have one character in a God/Goddess/Demi position. This is for fairness to others in the game. Fallen/Legend God/Goddess/Demi's do not count.
4. Don't whine if you do not get the position you want. We choose positions depending on the information given, and the type of position open.
5. Priests/Priestesses shall be accepted only by the diety who ascended you. If there was more than one ascender, then such matters portray to the God of Death.
Characters
1. Only one character per user name. This is so no one gets confused. (If there is a lesser character, i.e: bartender, mortal victim, this does not apply.)
2. If your user name is too obscene in itself, we may delete it, and make you create a new one. If you persist in doing this, we will ban you.
3. This site is not for finding cyber girlfriends/boyfriends. We allow couples, and the finding of couples to enhance plots and the like, but please don't be desperate about it, or we will take the Companionship board down. This is not a dating service.
Fighting
1. You can challenge someone to a fight for almost any reason, but don't go overboard.
2. You may have two weapons, and one "power" in a fight with another character, unless specified different and approved.
3. Before a fight, both characters must discuss what kind of fight you will particapate in.
4. The challenger may post their own "rules" as to how the fight should be done. (Normal rules also apply.)
5. One judge (Admin or Mod) will determine who wins the fight based on a checksheet they have for this purpose.
6. The judge has the final say. If a particapant has a problem, bring it up OOC. (Read above rules to understand the way to go about this.)
7. Any powerplaying or godmoding, and the character who has done this will be forfitted.
8. Be as realistic in fighting as you can be based on your character's form, race, and skills.
9. If you recieve damages during a fight, you must roleplay them until the specified heal date a judge will give you.
10. Do not re- challenge anyone until a RL week has passed. (RL week= Seven days.)
Birth + Death
1. If your character dies, it cannot come back unless a god/goddess brings them back, mainly the God of Death. (Unless one wishes to remain a ghost.)
2. Characters can be killed without permission, but it would be better to ask then have someone not happy with you for it.
3. Pregnancies must last at least five days RL, no less. (Of course, unless you beseech a Time god/goddess to change this.)
4. You must wait at least two weeks RL until another pregnancy. (See above rule for differences.)
5. All children characters born must have aspects of both parents, or one. (i.e; a blue- eyed parent and a brown- eyed parent cannot create a green- eyed child. Same for hair colors. This is only overlooked if there is a good reason, but you must PM an Admin for details.)
Inactivity
1. If you know you are going to be inactive for some time, you must post it on the Absences & Quitting board. That way, if an Activity Check occurs, you will be safe.
2. If you are inactive for an extent of two weeks (14 days) and do not post otherwise then you will become inactive.
3. Once you are inactive, we will inform you of your inactiveness. However, if you remain inactive after the allotted amount of time, we will delete your account.
4. Once deleted from the site, you must re-apply, and seek acceptance, and have an explanation.
5. If you are going to quit, save us the hassle and post it on the Absences & Quitting board.
6. If you do not post for a Activity Check, you could be deleted.
7. If you were inactive and missed a Activity Check because of a situation higher than you, that you could not help, you must contact an Admin/Co-Admin and speak to them about the situation.
Only on a situation basis will we remove the deletion without explanation further.

All Lands of Abyss ideas are copywrite to Lord Death and Gabe.
All layout ideas are copywrite Lord Death // & Prose and CoNs.
All pictures/images used are copywrite to whomever they belong to, and picture/image fusing are copywrite to whomever they belong to. We are not responsible for any pictures/images used wrongly.
Please do not take ideas without asking, we've worked hard on this site.
This site does not profit from anything used or played.
