I. General Rules
Please keep IC drama out of OOC drama, and vise versa. The nicest person on the site could play the meanest of a wolf; do not take it personally. If your character is killed, don't take it out on the player who's character killed yours. This should be simple common sense, of course.
Respect your fellow players and admins. Any kind of badmouthing based on sexual preference, race, height, weight, IC to OOC drama is highly punishable; we have a zero tolerance policy about this, and unless something was done to provoke you and the problem goes deeper than previously thought, it gets you an automatic ban. If you don't like someone, just leave them alone - if someone doesn't like you, keep your distance; and if they still harass you, message the admins so we can put a stop to it. Do not try to deal with the problem yourself; it could just make matters even worse.

II. Roleplaying
You cannot plan plots, packs, or threads Out of Character (OOC). Everything that happens IC should stay IC; no posting on the general chat, "Who wants to make a pack?", "Who wants to start some trouble with Bob?", "Let's make a thread so Bob can do so-and-so!", or things like that. This doesn't mean you can't go, "Does anyone want to RP with me?", because that's perfectly fine. Let everything happen by flowing freely, not by creating an outline for what will happen. It takes the fun out of freeform Roleplaying. You are expected to write in full words (no "u" for "you" or "2" for "two" or "too"), to have correct grammar and to use a spellchecker. If you refuse to use MS Word or an online spellchecker, your application will not be accepted. The occasional typo is understandable, but "tlking like this when ur in charcter" isn't okay.
You are expected to use real and/or non-archaic words. "Orbs" are not eyes, "harks" are not ears, "banners" are not tails and "labia" are not lips. Please refrain from using words that will confuse others when they read your posts. If you feel you have to pepper your writing with these 'fancy' terms, you may want to consider using a thesaurus to find more realistic or modern terms. If you would like more examples of what kind of words are not okay, please email or IM Melisandre.
You can kill someone else's character without the player's consent. Nowhere in real life will someone ask if they can kill you, and neither will they on Succession. This doesn't mean you can godmod! It has to be an open-ended attack like "Bob lunged at Tim's neck." If the other player has used up their dodges (See the Wolf Guide for an explanation), they HAVE to take the hit, and a neck wound is more often fatal than not.
There are no requirements for post length, as long as you have good grammar and usage; during a fight, you're not expected to write anything other than what your character is doing next, no matter how short or long this will be (this doesn't mean you can't make a long post if you want, though). You aren't expected to mirror other people's posts either; at the same time, though, you shouldn't answer four paragraphs with three sentences.
Postscripts are not allowed; Succession is not the place to be caught up in these sorts of graphics. While personal studios are okay, they will be for personal pictures only.. Or icons. However, the forums are coded a certain way, and post scripts disrupt the coding, distorting the layout.Sorry for any inconvenience.
God Modding is, in short, making your character invincible. "Bob bit Rob's neck and killed him" is an example of such - obviously, this is not allowed under any circumstances. It's unfair to other players and will get you banned, with or without warnings, depending on the severity.
Power Playing is controlling a character that is not your own, without permission. Unless it is agreed, you should never make someone else's character do something they wouldn't normally do, weren't planning to do, or anything of the sort. This is closely akin to God Modding. After three warnings, you will be removed from the site.
Metaplaying is against the rules. For those unfamiliar with the term, it basically means taking OOC knowledge IC. Your character cannot know everything you know. They only know what they are told in character. You must role play it out. Example of Metaplaying: You know every wolf's name on the site because you've looked at the memberlist, and address all the wolves by name in character, even when you are meeting them for the first time. Plot information should NEVER be metaplayed; this is highly unfair and will result in ban/suspension, depending on what was caused by it.
Graphic Language, in moderation, is allowed. Go overboard, and you will be spoken to.
Superwolves are not allowed in Succession under any circumstances. Your wolf is not faster, stronger, or better than every single wolf ever, no matter how much money the American government spent on him. Wolves that appear to have no physical weaknesses, or wolves that appear to exhibit what is deemed by the mods as 'superwolf behavior' will be noted, and taken care of (with a suspension/banning) if necessary. If you are afraid your wolf is a 'superwolf', try toning down their size, weight or strength/speed some, and be sure to have a good grasp on the concepts powerplaying and godmodding.Note: This is not to say that your wolf cannot be fast or strong, etc, they just cannot be over the top.
Graphic Violence is okay. There is no set limit as to how nasty you can get with your descriptions, so have at it. However, if a large group of people are severely grossed out by your post (in a bad way), someone will speak to you about toning it down in the future.
Graphic Mating, is allowed on Succession, but you MUST have a CLEAR warning in your thread title. Keep in mind that Succession is certainly not a site for mating, and if an excess number of graphic mating threads appear on Succession, this privilege will be revoked. The best choice? Don't do it at all.Back to Top
III. Other Information
Aging of your characters goes faster than real life. One month in real life equals two months on Succession; there will be announcements so you know when to age your characters another month. If one of the mods or admin notice that you are not aging your character, or are aging your character too fast, we will speak to you. Enough of this could end in suspension, or even a ban.
Even though Succession is abstract, we still have our limits. Wings, unrealistic/excessive bone growths, magical powers and certain fur colors are not allowed (see the Wolf Guide for more information). Almost any breed of wolf is playable here, and, as stated in the history, wolf-dog hybrids are also welcome. We also have a few, special (mutated) breeds that are available. Just keep in mind that the domesticated dog no longer exists at this point in Eden, so the evidence of a mixed bloodline won't be as noticeable, if at all especially with the mutations. Cross breeds within wolf species are also allowed.
Character Death is an inevitable factor, whether it is from old age or a fight, or illness or accident. If your character meets his or her end, you may reapply with a new character, and being an existing member, are not required to fill out the RP sample. The average wolf lives about eight years, sometimes ten - anything over that is unrealistic. In Succession, wolves are allowed to live for a longer time, but no longer than the Wolf Guide dictates. We trust you not to set back your character's ages, but if you choose to, keep in mind that we will probably notice something is up after a while.
Have fun! We can't stress enough how much we want Succession to be a friendly place to role play. Be kind to each other, and stick close to the rules. This way, living in Eden will be a very enjoyable experience.
