Infusco Aurum Argentum Humus Ignus Viridus Caelum Puniceus Niveus Rutilus Croceus Aterufus Leviscrudus

Eyes
Dragon eyes are suprisingly unique. They do not whirl as in the books. They are all born with savage red eyes, they turn to their natural color after they are fed. The colors do change depending on their moods, or in extremely stressful or emotional states. But they don't whirl, and they have a black pupil, like a cats. It can be little more than a tiny slit, or nearly perfectly round depending on the light and situation.

DRAGON SOUNDS-

bugle- greeting, information, joy
croon- pleasure, reassurance, apology
humming- hatching

moan- distress, anxiety
squeal- fear, surprise
warble- complacent, gratitude
whimper- deep sadness

Description

Infusco
#gray

King/Male
These Kings are the largest sort in the Weyr, and are the ones that most often fly the Aurum’s. Nearly the size of the High Queen’s, though just a smidge larger when it comes to bulk and sheer size. Their hides range from a deep nearly indigo blue-black color at the lightest to the darkest of blacks. The combination of their size, strength and personalities make them a surprisingly feared and respected dragon. Most every Infusco is very aggressive when it comes to anyone besides his Rider, and rarely his Weyrmate. Because of this, they are often loners, even if their Riders aren't. Their dispositions have earned them a reputation for being cruel and savage. They get to be about 44-48 yards in length. Infuscos chase Aurums and Argentums. Impresses heterosexual males.
Aurum
#DDAA33

Queen/Female
The Aurum Queens are the largest female dragons in the Weyr. They are nearly the size of an Infusco, if a few yards smaller. They have a smaller bulk, but often have a rather lithe and thin body. They are some of the most loyal of Dragonkind, severely loyal to their Rider and their Weyr. Their loyalty sometimes borders on obsessiveness, but not truly obsessed. Other than their loyalty, they are very proud of themselves, and often very stuck-up. Not as vain as their Puniceus cousins, but still bordering on a fierce pride in their appearance. There can be no more than one Aurum at the Weyr at a time, and this includes Flitts. They are severely territorial. Their hides range from a deep brown-gold to the lightest of pale peach-gold. Occasionally, they have red or yellow swirls hidden in the gold hues. Their hides reflect that of a purely autumn sunset from the cliffs. They get to be about 43-47 yards in length. Aurum's are caught by Infusco's and occasionaly a Humus. An Aurum usually clutches between 25-35 Eggs. Impresses heterosexual females.
Argentum
#CCCCCC

Queen/Female
The Argentum hide mirrors that of quicksilver, mixed with the swirls of the moon. A silvery look, nearly white but with more shimmers. Nearly gray swirls make it a true silver instead of pure white. The Argentum’s are very like their looks. A smooth personality, they are very empathetic. Their abilities to sense or figure out what another is feeling seems almost mystical in its strength. It makes them seem almost psychic when it comes to helping others with difficult issues or drama. They seem to have a natural talent to calm those around them by just being there. Often, they tend to be good friends with the Infuscos, balancing out that aggressiveness. They get to be about 40-44 yards in length. Argentum's are caught by Infusco's, Humus', and Ignus'. An Argentum usually clutches between 20-25 Eggs. Impresses heterosexual females.
Humus
#886600

King/Male
The Humus is the second largest male in the Weyr. Their personalities are sometimes aloof and distant when it comes to others of their species, but they are surprisingly down-to-earth. Their attitude hides the fact that they are very intelligent, and though they aren’t always the best at speaking, they have no difficulties understanding and figuring it out. Their hides are a near earthen brown, and range from an almost white-tan color to a near black-brown. Most often, then are a bright earth brown, with darker or lighter patches around the edges and hidden in the curves. They get to be about 39-43 yards in length. The Humus' chase Argentum's, occasionally Aurum's, and sometimes Viridus'. Impresses heterosexual males.
Ignus
#EE9900

Prince/Male
With hides varying between bright firey orange to a darker orange-brown color, the Ignus are the daredevils of dragonkind. Their speedy antics don’t always mix well when they are caught doing something they aren’t supposed too. Having a very short-temper, they often argue instead of accepting their punishment, which only tends to make it worse. This doesn’t mix well when they get involved with an Infusco. Especially since they don’t seem to know when to stop arguing. There have been instances, when a Rider lost control, and the Ignus provoked an Infusco. Sadly, both dragons ended between. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened since. Ignus are often kept on a naturally tight leash, to help prevent another incident. They get to be about 34-37 yards in length. Ignus' catch Viridus' and below, and rarely Argentum. Impresses heterosexual males.
Viridus
#449900

Princess/Female
The Viridus are quick of wit and body. Not necessarily fast, but quick. They are generally a very happy-go-lucky bunch, full of energy. Often found annoying by some of the other dragons and riders because of their energetic natural happiness. They are rarely angry, even when someone offends something they care about, they would rather play than fight. Their hides range from a deep emerald or jade green to a dark grass green. Occasionally, one will be born that is a pale green. They get to be about 32-37 yards in length. Viridus are chased by Ignus' and below, rarely Humus. A Viridus clutches between 10-15 Eggs. Impresses heterosexual females.
Caelum
#4466BB

Dragon/Male
Being the most blue colored of the dragons, the Caelum’s hide ranges from a dark nighttime sky-blue to a light daytime sky-blue. The Caelum’s are the most dependable of the dragons. If they say they will do something or be somewhere at a certain time, you can be totally confident that it will get done, no matter what. The blues of the Weyr are a very modest bunch, preferring to be on the more quiet side, and they do not accept compliments very well. They know they aren’t the prettiest, or the fastest, or the strongest, and that doesn’t bother them. They love their riders very much, and would do anything for them. They get to be about 31-34 yards in length. Caelum's chase Viridus and below. Impresses anyone.
Puniceus
#7755AA

Dragon/Female
With hides that look nearly identical to the late evening sunset, a blend of reds, mostly purples, and blues, the Puniceus are a very vain lot. They take an almost obsessive pride in their appearance, and spend all hours of the day and night preening. They often refuse to do any sort of work, and have to be forced by the local Aurum or Infusco. When they are forced to do something useful besides laze around and look pretty, they get very snappish. They would never actually hurt anyone intentionally, but that doesn’t stop them from threatening, and being scary. They get to be about 26-30 yards in length. Puniceus are caught by Ignus and below. Puniceus cannot Clutch. Impresses anyone.
Niveus
#FFFFFF

Dragon/Either
With hides that match the purest of white clouds, the Niveus are among the smallest of dragonkind. Of course, the Rutilus and the Croceus are about the same size. And of course, none of the dragons are truly small. Their shining white hides make them the brightest, physically, of the dragons. They are very shy, but also very caring when it comes to others. Not near as empathetic as the Argentum’s, but they are more personal and a lot less mystical when it comes to comforting others. And they don’t exactly comfort, but they do offer a shy friendship, and their care. They get to be about 25-29 yards in length. Niveus cannot clutch. Impresses anyone.
Rutilus
#BB0000

Dragon/Either
The Rutilus are a lot like the Ignus when it comes to their antics. However, they are not the daredevils their larger cousins are, and they don’t have the temper. They are also a lot more clever when it comes to tactics(which the Ignus lack). They are the practical jokesters of the Weyr, but know when to be serious. They have a natural mischievousness that usually generates more laughs than shouts. Good-natured, but still sometimes sneaky and cunning. A lot of people have problems trusting the Rutilus, because who knows when the next clown stunt will occur? Their hides range from a deep crimson-red to a pale almost-pink. They get to be about 25-29 yards in length. Rutilus cannot clutch. Impresses anyone.
Croceus
#FFEE66

Dragon/Either
Croceus are the most athletic(flying, running, swimming, etc.) They love to do things that are physical. That, of course, doesn’t make them the best at flying or swimming or such, but they enjoy doing it none the less. They have a tendency to exaggerate things, especially about things that they do. Of course, their good-natured bragging is usually very harmless, and they are a very friendly type. Their hides range from a pale white-yellow to a deep, nearly orange-goldenrod color. They get to be about 25-29 yards in length. Croceus cannot clutch. Impresses anyone.
Aterufus
#663300

Dragon/Either
The Aterufus are an odd bunch of Dragons. Despite their rather odd and sometimes forbidding appearance, they are often very happy, and very optimistic dragons. It seems like they are the most versatile of dragons also. Their personalities range between any of the Prince and Princess dragons and lower, and often their personalities change as they do. Their hides are always a deep black-gray, often with hints of a dark red, and wings of a dull red-brown color. They get to be about 25-29 yards in length. Aterufus cannot clutch. Impresses anyone.
Leviscrudus
#669900

Dragon/Either
Leviscrudus dragons are eerily quiet physically. Their lack of audible, physical sounds are made up for by the fact that they never shut up when talking to their Impressed, and just about anyone else too. Leviscrudus are the most likely to talk to someone other than their Rider, and their constant strings of words are often found annoying by some of the calmer dragons. Their hides are a deep green color, much like a Viridus, but the membrans of their wings are more like a Aterufus with a dull brown-red color. They get to be about 25-29 yards in length. Leviscrudus cannot clutch. Impresses anyone.
