Dragon/Flit InfoDragon Colors | Font Colors | Flit Names and Owners --Aside from any of the colors noted at the bottom of the page, pictures for the Avangelis colored dragons were made by Eden. It would be highly appreciated if these pictures were not dismissed as 'universal' pictures and thusly okay to use. Especially those with feathered wings. Those were created by Eden, using nothing but Paint. They took days to finish and should not be used without permission from Eden.-- Dragon Colors ![]()

The ranks are in order to show sizes. Larger is higher and those on the same rung are equal. Back to Top Queens: ![]() Average Length: 48-52 Average Clutch Size: 30-45 eggs Rarity: Very rare Nova's are white with green highlights and splotch patterns on their hides, in dark green and bright green. They are fairly outgoing, friendly, and spontanious. They are level-headed dragons, though they're not afraid to take some risks. This, matched with the way they put others' needs before their own makes them natural leaders. It seems to be the trend that they Impress young women with personalities similar to their own, though there have been opposite Impressions made once or twice. It is very rare to see more than one Nova in the Weyr at one time; for despite their generally friendly and calm nature, they do get very territorial and sometimes violent when something that is theirs is threatened. Novas rarely rise, for if they rose too often there would be too many eggs and not enough Candidates. Number of Nova Dragons in Avangelis: 1 Number of Nova Flits in Avangelis: 0 ![]() Average Length: 44-48 Average Clutch Size: 25-35 eggs Rarity: Uncommon The Argentum hide mirrors that of quicksilver, mixed with the swirls of the moon. A silvery look, nearly white but with more shimmers. Nearly gray swirls make it a true silver instead of pure white. The Argentum’s are very like their looks. A smooth personality, they are very empathetic. Their abilities to sense or figure out what another is feeling seems almost mystical in its strength. It makes them seem almost psychic when it comes to helping others with difficult issues or drama. They seem to have a natural talent to calm those around them by just being there. Often, they tend to get along best with Helconics, balancing out their natural aggressiveness. Impress females with like personalities, those who understand all sides of any given thing and who tend to be the mediators. Argentums usually only rise once every three turns or so. Number of Argentum Dragons in Avangelis: 1 Number of Argentum Flits in Avangelis: 3 ![]() Average Length: 40-44 Average Clutch Size: 15-25 eggs Rarity: Very rare Dreams are, as their names might suggest, day dreamers. They are very optimistic and artistic creatures - and they look for these attributes in those they Impress too as well. They are gentle and tend to be more on the talkative side; thought not so much so as to be considered annoying. They are the kindest dragons, not a bad bone in their body. Their hides are a swirl of pastel pinks, blues, and purples - giving them a whimsical appearance. A rare feature that Dreams have... cream colored feathered wings. Their feathered wings and rarity are what make them Queens. They rarely rise, though when they do, their clutches tend to hold higher colors more often than not - and often times more than one egg will contain a rather rare dragon. Number of Dream Dragons in Avangelis: 1 Number of Dream Flits in Avangelis: 2 ![]() Average Length: 38-42 Average Clutch Size: 10-20 eggs Rarity: Uncommon - more common than other Queens Once the original and only Queens of Pern, over the past few decades Golds have been snubbed out of the highest ranking position by the newer colors. Golds tend to be a proud lot, and often times quite stubborn. They are good leaders, and often Impress heterosexual females who also possess leadership qualities. Their hides vary in color - they can have a light buttery hued hide that is similar in color to a Croceus, or have a darker hide that looks more like a Bronze. Golds are the smallest Queens, and their clutches are smaller as well; the deciding factor ultimately being how long/high the flight was and which colored male caught her. Golds will rise once every two turns, though their mating cycles vary during a Pass. Number of Gold Dragons in Avangelis: 1 Number of Gold Flits in Avangelis: 6 Kings: ![]() Average Length: 43-47 Rarity: Rare Matte black with blood red markings on muzzle, tail, eyeridges, wings, and bottom half of legs - these dragons are definately scary looking. As if that wasn't bad enough, one's first impression of a Helconic is usually right, for they're very unfriendly creatures. They don't make friends easily, and even tend to fight with their bonded. They can be caring, if they have a mate that they care about - but otherwise they're just generally jerks. Forever in a sour mood they're one of the least liked of the dragons; unfortunately they're the highest ranking male. Their rank is some advantage though - for they are fairly rare. They Impress to young men like themselves, prefering older Candidates to the younger ones. Those they Impress to also tend to be prone to violence or have problems with keeping their anger in check. Helconics can be controlled by their bondeds and by all Queen dragons, although with both they still tend to push the limits. Number of Helconic Dragons in Avangelis: 0 Number of Helconic Flits in Avangelis: 0 ![]() Average Length: 40-43 Rarity: Very rare The male counterpart to the Dream in looks but not ranking, this dragon is fierce looking. At first, it's quite easy to mistake a Nightmare for a Helconic - given that both dragons have black hides with red markings. However, there is one very large difference; like Dreams, Nightmares have feathered wings, although their wings are gray. Although their appearance may be frightening, Nightmares aren't really all that scary to deal with. They try to act tough, but they do have a hidden softer side. They're not very sociable creatures, prefering to observe rather than jump into things. There's no trend as to what kind of boys a Nightmare might Impress, this just furthering the mysterious aura that seems to surround these dragons. Number of Nightmare Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Nightmare Flits in Avangelis: 0 ![]() Average Length: 37-40 Rarity: Uncommon Were someone to poke fun of the deep amethyst hide that covers this dragon with silver shades glistening off in perfect arcs of sterling luster, he would be certain to tell them of their folly. For he is a King, therefore not bound by the hue some would deem as feminine. Loyalty, a sensitivity to anything artistic, and the clear ability to think in new ways are the most effeminate traits possessed by an Aricin. He will also be stubborn, displayed as a most perfect rascal. Though, the thing about that is that he is usually right. The Aricin is much too smart of a dragon to get into fights where he could possibly ruin the reputation of arête. Sculpted for speed and agility, the Aricin will use smaller dragon Flights as practice for his Beloved Queens, occasionally choosing a lower female as his mate. He will usually Impress to older Candidates, looking for a level head as a medium of which his obstinate ways will sit well with. Also, he never Impresses a homosexual male, as with all Kings. The feminity he does have it only a few traits and allows for a freer style of thinking rather than shifting personality and preference. Number of Aricin Dragons in Avangelis: 0 Number of Aricin Flits in Avangelis: 2 ![]() Average Length: 35-38 Rarity: Uncommon - more common than the other Kings Bronze dragons were once the dream of almost every Pernese boy. With a metallic gleam and commanding personality, their leadership is undeniable. They tend to be a stubborn and egotistical lot, often butting heads with Helconics. Bronzes often participate in greenflights, but usually are beaten out by the smaller and more agile blues and browns. But then, every bronze's target is the golden queen, whom they almost always win. A few times its been recorded that a Bronze has caught a Puniceus. Bronze dragons Impress to only males who have that same stubborn streak as themselves. Number of Bronze Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Bronze Flits in Avangelis: 4 Other Colors (listed in order of size/ranking): ![]() Average Length: 35-37 Gender: Female Alexandrites are among the larger dragons, only slightly smaller than the smallest of Queens. They are a beautiful pink-purple color with darker hues around their tails and feet - usually a darker shade of purple or pink. Their personalities very much mirror their gentle color - they are happy, flirty, and innocent. They have an overall positive outlook on life, no matter what the current situation is. They very much love male attention, and with being among some of the 'prettier' dragons, they enjoy to flaunt their feminimity off. They Impress to girls who are cheery, headstrong, no-nonsense girls who have the ability to do well in leadership situations (i.e. Wingleaders, Wingseconds). They usually rise about 1-2 times a Turn, and don't clutch. Number of Alexandrite Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Alexandrite Flits in Avangelis: 3 ![]() Average Length: 34-36 Gender: Male A black dragon with fiery orange markings, this is an odd dragon. The highest ranking of the non-king males, Veiligilus dragons tend to sometimes forget that they're really NOT kings. They can be rather snotty at times, and bossy to lower ranking dragons - though this isn't always so. Their eyes are a bit different than others; rather than changing with all their moods, they're normally a haze of firey orange and smokey gray swirling together. They only change to other colors when feeling intense emotions. Their wings are a dark red, and feathered - making them some of the more rarer dragons, though not rare enough to make them a King. They are slender but muscular, and very quick in flight. They tend to Impress boys who feel they have something to prove, and who are always striving to better themselves - those who usually make good Wingseconds. Can catch all but Novas and Argentums in flight. Number of Veiligilus Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Veiligilus Flits in Avangelis: 2 ![]() Average Length: 31-33 Gender: Female Their hides are a fiery shade of crimson, quite exotic looking. When oiled, these dragons are especially stunning. Rubies are quite good-natured, although they do tend to become a bit over-competitive sometimes. However, they are incredibly loyal and dedicate their lives to serving the the Weyr and its residents. This can lead to problems between Weyrs- the Rubies occasionally start fights, trying to prove that their Weyr is better. Never insult a Weyr, dragon, or Weyr resident in front of a Ruby- they might just bite your head off. Literally. Therefore they tend to impress girls who know how to keep their tongue, and can get others to do the same. They Impress girls and the occasional homosexual male, but they tend to be very proud of being female, and kind of look down on males in general. Still, they often pick kind of "tom-boy"-ish girls, that aren't afraid to stand up for themselves and what they love. They can be caught by any male, but Kings and tend to ignore them, thinking that their time is better spent on other projects. Unlike most dragons, Rubies clutch once in their life, after their first mating flight (whether or not they chew firestone). They only lay one egg, and the color is determined by the father, pretty much. The hatched dragon cannot be ranked higher than the father's color. And again, unlike most dragons, Rubies are incredibly motherly and attached to their offspring. In fact, Weyrlingmasters often leave most of the dragonet training up to the mothers, and only work with the human, because the mothers are THAT good. Number of Ruby Dragons in Avangelis: 1 Number of Ruby Flits in Avangelis: 4 ![]() Average Length: 30-32 Gender: Male Larger and stronger than the Blue dragons, Browns are somewhat the middle-ground of the male dragons. Browns are often known to be laid back and easygoing, though can show force when absolutely necessary. Brown dragons are capable of flying greens and also the golden queens, but only in rare circumstances. Brown dragons Impress to only males with similar personalities. Number of Brown Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Brown Flits in Avangelis: 5 ![]() Average Length: 29-31 Gender: Female With hides that look nearly identical to the late evening sunset, a blend of reds, mostly purples, and blues, the Puniceus are a very vain lot. They take an almost obsessive pride in their appearance, and spend all hours of the day and night preening. They often refuse to do any sort of work, and have to be forced by the local Nova or Helconic. When they are forced to do something useful besides laze around and look pretty, they get very snappish. They would never actually hurt anyone intentionally, but that doesn’t stop them from threatening, and being scary. They Impress girls who are very patient, and who usually have a personality opposite of their's to help balance things out; though they have been known to Impress girls just as vain and lazy as themselves. They do not clutch, a good thing too, as they would make horrible mothers. Number of Puniceus Dragons in Avangelis: 0 Number of Puniceus Flits in Avangelis: 3 ![]() Average Length: 28-30 Gender: Male Often mistaken for a particularly large Blue, that thought is cleared when the Poematis moves and waves of silver pour across their body. Build for high-speed dives and even faster stops, the Poematis’ body takes on a streamlined shape for quicker flying- seeing the Poematis as an all-rounded color in various fighting styles, save reflexes and maneuverability. Skilled in the play of words, a Poematis can be considered a perfect gentleman in draconic society. Caring, polite, courageous, with a high sense of chivalrous and humbleness, this color is somewhat like the knight in shining armor to the female society. In fact, they could charm the stars from the sky with their silver tongue. In Flights, a Poematis usually succeeds with the same colors as a Blue. The Candidates they choose are varied in personality and gender, perhaps a few times a Poematis would choose a girl with a strong sense of feminism and courtesy. Number of Poematis Dragons in Avangelis: 0 Number of Poematis Flits in Avangelis: 2 ![]() Average Length: 27-31 Gender: Male or Female An Ice dragon, as their name may suggest, are very cold. They seem to have no heart - only caring about those they Impress to. They are very nonchalant in their attitudes towards, well, everything. They are extemely level-headed and have the rare ability to stay completely calm in even the most chaotic of situations. They can easily assess the situation and make calculated decisions. Unfortunately, since they have such an uncaring attitude, the decisions they tend to make may not always be in the best interest of all those involved. Ices are those who would sacrifice the few in order to save the many; rather than figuring out some other way in which all could benefit. They are white with blue highlights, mostly on their wings, eyeridges, legs, and muzzle. The blue ranges in color, being from a teal color to a light glacier blue. Females do not clutch. Number of Ice Dragons in Avangelis: 1 (male), 1 (female) Number of Ice Flits in Avangelis: 1 (female) ![]() Average Length: 25-29 Gender: Male or Female Yet another dark colored dragon, the Twilight dragon has a dark gray to black hide with their neckridges and eyeridges being a navy blue with a few small white spots. They are calm and very helpful dragons. They are very much the mediators, able to see clearly both sides of any arguement. They are happy and outgoing, very much the opposite of what their outer appearance may suggest. There are often more females than males, but that doesn't mean that every Twilight clutched will be a female. Females cannot clutch. Number of Twilight Dragons in Avangelis: 1 (female), 1 (male) Number of Twilight Flits in Avangelis: 2 (female), 3 (male) ![]() Average Length: 25-29 Gender: Male or Female Almost black, this sooty dragon would seem not to have such a clear namesake. Caliginous hide covers a sweet disposition and untiring patience. Even the most finely oiled Lucidite has dulled sheen, a matte finish that one could never hope to smooth. The membrane, on the underside of the wings, is a soft lining of hues, as if a pastel design had been muted into grayscale. No matter the gender, size, or variation, no color will ever touch the forever overcast hide. Only shade prevails over the lithe body. Though a lackluster exterior coats the small dragon, a vibrant personality is apparent to those with enough patience to get to the meek dragon. Almost as talented as Twilights at dissolving misunderstandings, Lucidite are often in positions that make them uncomfortable, namely being in the center of attention. The murky outside allows others to look over the Lucidite, focusing on more vibrant colors. Females cannot clutch. Number of Lucidite Dragons in Avangelis: 1 (female) Number of Lucidite Flits in Avangelis: 1 (female), 1 (male) ![]() Average Length: 25-28 Gender: Male Although the smallest of the males, usually only a little bigger than the Greens, Blues are fast and agile. Their stamina is not the best, but their quick reflexes and slender bodies make it easier for them to fly, and also makes them valuable assets during Threadfall. Blue dragons are only capable of flying Greens, though there have been extremely rare exceptions. Blue dragons Impress to only males with personalities that mirror their own; normally dependable although a little flighty and slightly spastic. Number of Blue Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Blue Flits in Avangelis: 5 ![]() Average Length: 20-25 Gender: Female The smallest dragons, greens are also the most numerous. Green dragons are female, but infertile, due to chewing firestone. They tend to rise to mate frequently, due to being infertile- Between five and eight times per year. Greens Impress both male and female Candidates who have personalities much like themselves: flirty, a small problem with authority, fun loving, adventurous, and willing to take risks. The males they Impress tend to be a bit more on the feminine side as well; and its very rare for a Green to Impress a heterosexual male. Number of Green Dragons in Avangelis: 2 Number of Green Flits in Avangelis: 9 ![]() Average Length: 20-25 Gender: Male or Female Croceus are the most athletic (flying, running, swimming, etc.) They love to do things that are physical. That, of course, doesn’t make them the best at flying or swimming or such, but they enjoy doing it none the less. They have a tendency to exaggerate things, especially about things that they do. Of course, their good-natured bragging is usually very harmless, and they are a very friendly type. Their hides range from a pale white-yellow to a deep, nearly orange-goldenrod color. Females do not clutch. Number of Croceus Dragons in Avangelis: 2 (female) Number of Croceus Flits in Avangelis: 4 ![]() Average Length: 20-25 Gender: Male or Female With hides varying between bright firey orange to a darker orange-brown color, the Ignus are the daredevils of dragonkind. Their speedy antics don’t always mix well when they are caught doing something they aren’t supposed too. Having a very short-temper, they often argue instead of accepting their punishment, which only tends to make it worse. This doesn’t mix well when they get involved with a Helconic. Especially since they don’t seem to know when to stop arguing. Ignus are often kept on a naturally tight leash, to help prevent any incidents. Females do not clutch. Number of Ignus Dragons in Avangelis: 0 Number of Ignus Flits in Avangelis: 4 (female), 2 (male) ![]() Average Length: 16-18 Gender: Male or Female Whites are just that, white. They tend to be the hardest dragons to take care of. Not that they're demanding like a Puniceus or anything along those lines, just that their hides require more frequent cleaning as they more easily show dirt. They Impress either gender, though they only Impress Candidates of the same gender of themselves; records show that female Whites are fairly rare. They are kind creatures, and very determined. The smallest dragons, even smaller than Greens, often times they're refered to as the 'runts' of dragonkind. Although they get made fun of, and have been scoffed at, their small size makes it easy for them to do tricky moves in the air. This and their speed makes them important during Threadfall. They Impress to those who tend to feel they have something to prove and who aren't afraid to work hard to reach their goals. Females do not clutch.
