Rules

You MUST read these rules before joining and roleplaying.

Basic Guidelines

-Be polite and kind to all. Here, we're all one big Clan, so no put-downs or threats.
-Do not use foul language.
-Do not post inappropriate images/concepts such as pornography, racism, sexism, etc.
-Contacting: Do not abuse the e-mail/PM privilege! If you don't want to be sent a certain kind of e-mail (ads, offers, chains, etc.) specify so in your profile.

All Clans

-A year is 12 weeks OOC, all told. Each week is a moon, and 3 moons=1 season.
-Every season, a Gathering is held at Fourtrees so the Clans may discuss their problems or report on their status as a Clan.
This is a time of peace for the four Clans and a sacred rule declares that you may not fight physically during this time.
If the leaders fight verbally, StarClan may send a warning by casting a cloud near the moon, etc.
The Gathering is declared over when StarClan covers the moon.
-Each post MUST be a MINIMUM of 4 sentences. If not, your post will be deleted and you'll have to start over. (
One word posts are annoying, so don't do those either)
-All OOC (Out Of Character) posts must be marked by either OOC- or double parenthesis (()) around the words.
You may not post just OOC on the RPing boards.

Clan Life

-Each Clan has a leader and a deputy to run the group. When the leader dies, the deputy becomes leader and appoints his or her own deputy.
-Only leaders or deputies may call patrols.
-If leaders are absent for a period of time IC or OOC, the deputy is in charge.
If the leader is not active for two months straight or leaves the site, the deputy automatically becomes leader.
-It's the warrior's duty to hunt, lead or be part of patrols, teach the young cats and protect their Clan.
They must follow their superior's orders.
-Apprentices will become warriors after a certain period of time for training under a senior warrior.
Their leader must inspect them before allowing them to gain their warrior name, which the leader picks.
Apprentices are allowed some input OOC, but otherwise the leader picks.
If you have strong objections to the name chosen for you, you may change it.
-Kits may become apprentices when they reach the age of 6 moons. (Equivalent to 2 weeks)
Their leader should keep an eye on this and complete a ceremony when it's time for them to become one, and the leader will also pick the mentor of the new apprentice.
When a kit becomes an apprentice, the last part of their name will change from "kit" to "paw".

Hunting

-Cats may only hunt in their own territory.
-Prey is mainly small rodents or birds including squirrels, mice, voles, magpies, crows, swallows, starlings, etc.
-Cats such as the ones we RP would not be able to hunt or kill the following: mountain lions, horses, bears, wolverines, badgers, dogs, wolves, foxes, etc.
It's impossible for an animal that small to kill these animals and several people have RPed it before. That will not happen.

Fighting

-If a whole Clan is fighting, each leader must have previously agreed to the terms OOC.
-Surprise raids may be conducted on an enemy camp, but the party may only be made up of five or less cats.
-There may be border fights when two patrols clash over boundaries, and that may occur whenever you want.
Keep in mind that there are consequences, however...

Mating

-You may only mate in the special boards indicating so.
-You must be a warrior of at least 36 moons (3 years) to mate!
-Mating DOES NOT have to be descriptive at all.
You can just say "Tom and Jill walked into the cave and mated" if you'd like, but descriptive mating is allowed as long as it does not get offensive.
-If your mating (this can also occur when fighting) gets graphic, please edit the topic title with an X-X-X. (Idea credited from Wild Sonnet)
-Females can have kits approx. 9 moons after mating. (9 weeks)
-If you have decided to have kits, both the male and female must agree by PM, etc. and must inform an administrator for the records.
The male and female must also decide their kits' physical descriptions and who roleplays them.
