Rules
+ Your character must behave as if bound by the laws of physics and reality.
This means that killing large amounts of NPCs is not acceptable, and also that Powerplaying and Godmoding are not acceptable without prior consent. In case there's any confusion, powerplaying is when you play not only your character, but also someone else's, without their permission. Godmoding is when you refuse to take hits in fights, for lack of better explanation. You are not God, and you cannot dodge bullets--not that there are any in Famine to be fired at you. If you're too scared to play a character in fights where he might actually get killed, you might want to stick to keeping him in your own novels and off this site. Also, please try to keep your character's knowledge of things limited to IC stuff.
+ With that said, your character might die, given the nature of this site.
Please don't be a bitch about it. If you think someone was incredibly out of line in killing your character, tell us about it. We may not be able to help you (ie. we disagree with you), but we'll try.
+ Be reasonable.
For Christ's sakes, don't go around killing NPC monsters to make yourself look cool. No one will be impressed, especially not the people who actually play monsters. Do not have your character know OOC information, and keep your posts and IC actions in-tuned with the world of Famine. And for that matter, read everything; we will forgive you for not knowing what happens in each and every thread, but we will not forgive you for ignoring the information pages. Keep in mind that you will not be tested by anything other than your roleplaying, and that we are not the sort of people to ignore blatant disregard for this sort of thing.
+ Be legible.
If we have an easier time understanding German than your post when your post is supposedly in English, we have a problem. Shorthand is not acceptable in RP, but we'll be a little more lenient in the OOC sections. Don't abuse it.
+ Be timely or be skipped.
As it stands we don't require a posting order, but if at all possible, try to allow enough time for everyone in a thread to post. If someone's taking entirely too long without a good excuse, and they aren't crucial to that thread's plot, skip 'em. About a week should be long enough for someone to come up with something for your thread.
+ Post or notify.
When in active threads, please try to post at least once a week. If you'll be gone for a time, let us know, either by posting it up in the General board (recommended) or by PMing, emailing, or IMing an admin. We don't want to see you drop off the face of the earth. It makes us sad.
+ Adult content will happen on this site.
Cursing, sex, death, blood. All that stuff. We'd really prefer it if you didn't roleplay smut unless it's got something plot-related in it; if you really want to play it, take it to email, IM, whatever. However, we do request that you mark any adult content with the |AC| tag.
