The stars are bright tonight.

A good sign. But what of the night when the sky is starless and overcast? Simple: your fate may be at jeopardy.

        The wolves of Doutaini have been reading the stars for centuries. Stargazers were developed at the start of their species. In fact, it is the origin of their creation, the very essence of their life.

        Each wolf is appointed a star from birth, regardless of their parents beliefs. It is difficult to say how one keeps track of their star   there are, after all, trillions of them in the night sky; nearly every one is equally sized and brilliant. Your star is rumoured to sparkle with the most intensity. Yours, and the gods.

        Not everyone is a believer in this rather loose religion. A handful of them decide to be skeptics, finding too many flaws in the spiritual way of life. Disbelief is not persecuted at the present time as it was eons before. Despite the differences in faith, the wolves that inhabit Doutaini are all somehow connected to the stars. They are brought together in gatherings to worship and celebrate how the heavens drive their destiny for another prosperous year.

        The most common ritual of these would be the Stardust Festival. The first official one was held when the wolves were at their highest point of flourishing: Kaiyo, the goddess of forgiveness, vitality and love, wanted to award their ability to survive so well with a gift that would actually make living easier. So she sought out the strongest and most virtuous of the packs and told him to go to the circle of willows and there he would find the truth.

        This was how the use of elements started. Little did Kaiyo know, being such the good-willed goddess that she was, she overlooked the negative aspects of elements. When the wolf, his name unknown and lost after years of passed-down legends, went to the willows called Doutaini   Together   he found necklaces made from the very stardust that had fallen from a previous meteor shower hidden within a hollow willow stump. Each one glowed as a different colour which represented a separate power. Red for fire, green for earth, blue for water, and so on. He returned to his friends and they picked their poison, so to speak, as easily as choosing a colour would be.

        Fire, water, earth, ice, wind, and storm. After a while, Hoshiko, the spirit goddess, decided that her elements wielders were the most special of them all, and therefore granted them the uttermost blessing of all.

Whenever a wolf dies, their star dies with them. It disappears from the nocturnal sky, winking out of existence at the blink of an eye.

           Welcome back to Doutaini, an original wolf roleplay site that has been around for quite some time now. Welcome back to a land of mystery and wonder, where wolves here are not born with their elements, but rather must gain them through hard work and dedication in the form of power-wielding necklaces.

        Welcome back to a world that is ruled by the unseen gods and goddesses, and by the stars that glare mercilessly down upon the earth, where the wolves believe that their lives are controlled by these twinkling masses of fire.

        Doutaini has always been a land of prosperity, a place to turn over a new leaf when one's life has gone astray. But at the same time, Doutaini is no paradise, and you will be sure to face the same trials of life here as anywhere else.

        Fire. Water. Earth. Ice. Wind. Storm. These were the elements the wolves of Doutaini had manipulated for generations. Only now, unexpectedly, a new and more bizarre element has found its way into the group- Enigma. The element of illusion. Some argue that it should not even be considered an element at all, due to the fact that the gods did not bless the wolves of Doutaini with its necklace, and it has no characteristics of controlling an element. Nevertheless, it is the only category it belongs in.

        As well as the arrival of a new element and the forming of a new pack, a second pack has made its presence known within Doutaini- a pack without an element, compiled of wolves who detest the abuse of elemental powers, and dislike using the god's powers to 'cheat' their way into dominance. The Rebel Pack. These wolves are tough, and extremely militaristic, focusing on building their natural strengths rather than skills in using elements. No weaklings are accepted into this prideful pack, and the group is nearly always on edge with the rest of the elemental packs.

        And admidst all of this earthly confusion, the gods observe their creations from their heavenly pedastal, the stars in the sky twinkle as they always have, and life goes on as usual for the inhabitants of Doutaini.

What new joys, new tragedies, new epic trials will tomorrow bring for them? You'll just have to find out for yourself.

I'm joining, as it's been long overdue. <3
I've been waiting to join this site for ages.

I would like to join as one of the pack pups when some start to open up for character adoption. I wasn't sure how that works, as the 'adoption' page seemed a little confusing and even a little outdated maybe? See... I don't even know O.o

So yeah... I'll wait for someone to get back to me on this... *stalks board*

I want to start in as a pup and grow up as one on the site as one of the current characters' offspring. It's funner and more realistic that way... so yeah. I'm excited though. I've been looking for a good active wolf RP for too long and none other has been able to strike my fancy =)


Edit- But note that I want one of the more active characters as a parent... as it is a little strange for a pup to be wandering around without the elders of their household xP

Well, our adoptions page is, indeed, outdated; simply because no one ever adopts. D: They always tend to want to make their own wolves.

But I think it's time for a slight update ~ I'll go scavenge all of the wolves for adoption on the Adoptions thread on the boards and transfer them to the adoptions page so you can pick and choose the one you'd like to adopt.

There are several pups being born that are going to need a roleplayer; I'll try to post some up here for you. 83

Sorry this took longer than expected. XD;

Iencha, the Storm Alpha, is having pups with Vanice, Storm Gamma, on January 6th; there will be one male pup up for adoption, and he will have a brother and a sister. Name ideas are Thorne, Aleron, or anything else you'd like to name him. His personality can be up to you if you'd like; he'd be the heir or scion of the Storm pack.

I, myself, play Iencha, and Vanice is very active herself; these pups are going to be newborns on the sixth. Iencha was involved with the Water Alpha for a while, but when he met Vanice, he immediately fell in love and the pups that are going to be born will be their first litter.

Jokull, the Rebel Gamma Male, has a pup up for adoption. Her mother is Paine, the Rebel Gamma Female. Her name is Gin, and she has one brother and one sister. She is a Rebel Pup; here is the rest of her information:

description .. pure white; blue eyes; feminine; tall or muscular (you decide), since both Jokull and Paine are quite large.

personality .. up to whoever adopts her, as long as she isnt too unlike her parents (by which I mean she will most likely not be the stupidest, laziest, or most cheerful wolf in Doutaini).

relationships .. up to whoever adopts her. If she's more on the caring side, shell probably be closer to her mother. If you decide to make her ambitious or downright evil, or anything of that calibre, shell be closer to her father.  

This pup will probably be a few weeks old IC, so he'd still be a young 'un, but capable of running and talking and that stuff. 83 Jokull ( Taelor ) is an incredibly active member; you can see her on the member list quite frequently, so you'd have no trouble roleplaying with her if you wanted to. Paine's pretty new, but as far as I know, she's pretty darn active herself. This pup, as well as the rest of the litter, is the result of Jokull's rape upon Paine.

Vengeance, a rogue wolf, will be having pups with Kyria, a rogue wolf and the daughter of the Storm Alpha on January 3rd; there will be one pup up for adoption, male or female (your choice). Appearance, personality, everything is up to you ~ <3

Vengeance is pretty darn active as well; he's currently trying to take over the Fire pack, and he's considered a "legend" ( or, a long-term member of Doutaini who's very well-known ). He's pretty old himself; Kyria is roleplayed by me ( Iencha ), and she's the daughter of Iencha as well. Vengeance himself is older than Kyria's daughter; however, the two of them fell in love upon meeting each other, and after a lot of drama and angst, they decided to get together despite everyone else's views upon the age difference. Their next litter will be born tomorrow, and they will be newborns and will remain rogues with their parents, unless Vengeance takes over the fire pack - then they will become fire heirs/scions.

Vexx, the Rebel Alpha, will be having pups with Karina, an Ice She-wolf, on January 4th; I'm not sure if any of them are going to be up for adoption or not, but if you're interested, then I'll gladly talk to them about it and get more information on this.

Vexx is incredibly active as well, considering he's the alpha of the rebel pack. I'm not all that sure about Karina, but she's relatively new to the site, so. ;3 Their offspring will be newborns on the 4th, and they will be the result of rape as well, and will be members of the Rebel pack.

Same goes for Jokull and Prelude; Jokull, Rebel Gamma Male, will be having pups with Prelude, a Water She-wolf, on January 8th.

Jokull, once again, is incredibly active, as is Prelude. These pups will be newborns on the 8th, and are also the result of rape; they will go to the Rebel pack.

Not sure if any of them are up for adoption either, but once again, if you're interested, I'll get more information for you.
