Ranks

The USERLEVEL you are assigned is not synonymous with your RANK. Due to AR's 15-userlevel restriction on me, userlevels are basically Member, Moderator, Admin. Different admins/ mods will be given their own userlevels to account for different admin privileges, savvy? Moving on.

These are, of course, the ranks for your characters. There are several, as you may have guessed. Rank and species tend to have little to no correalation... in fact, ranks are assigned regardless of pretty much everything else about the character except maybe their personality. Like I don't think you'd have a super-shy politician-type. But uhm. Yeah. That's it.

As per is usual for RP sites, I'm going to hope that we don't have an overload of any particular rank, be it experiment or... people vying for Kingship... or whatever. I mean, I don't expect everyone to have Denizens, but some might be nice... and a balance between high- and low-status characters would be awesome. *thumbs up*

Currently, the Denizen rank includes everything I'm too lazy to write up a bio for. Yay!
Denizen
A citizen of Helveticus, you may be stuck here due to an unfortunate dimensional incongruity, or someone who moved here on purpose. Generally middle-class, though this rank also encompasses... well, anything not otherwise described.

Experiment
Either you were originally created for experimentation, or were most unfortunately and illegally dragged into Helveticus, or ran out of money and ended up that way but... you're a science experiment now. A lab rat. They'll test transplants, cures, genetic re-coding, and whatever else crosses their minds... Because they're nasty like that.

Doctor
You lot are the miserly sadistic bastards doing all that stuff to the patients. Or they could be nice family doctors, or something. Erm.

Queen of Edda
Pfft, democracy? Edda, one of the two Helvetican nations, has one absolute ruler. At current, she is Queen Aleksandra. (This role can be obtained by murdering or at least seriously debilitating Aleksandra through RP. And yes, Aleksandra is the head admin. But she probably deserves to die at some point.)

Politicians
Getting all political are we? Yes we are. Maialthra has no absolute ruler or even singular figurehead; it has layers of complex political infrastructures. Like, Senators and stuff. Someone who's interested can invent the entire system and send it to me and I'll put it up somewhere. Whootwhoot.

Tourist
A tourist who dropped in from someplace else in the multiverse, different from Denizens only that they don't have a permanent address and might only stay in the game for a limited time only. o: Yes, I just said that! A temporary rank for temporary characters! NPCs galore! And, people-who-don't-know-if-they-really-want-to-commit-to-the-site-but-at-least-want-to-try. Those too.

Pirate
Inter-dimensional pirates. But of course. Space pirates or wallah pirates, whichever you prefer. ...because pirates are fun, damnit. Some of them steal from Helveticus itself, usually from Maialthra, but most often they simply use Edda as a cache for their treasures.

Portal Guardians
Other than guarding the portals as the name suggests, Guardians also repair and maintain the sophisticated technology that doesn't let everyone through. They tend to need to have either advanced weaponry or be pretty damned strong or magical or something because they have this tendency to get lynched by mobs of people who are stuck in Helveticus and think the Guardians can actually do something about it.

Entertainers
There are a plethora of entertaining jobs for your character to consider, after all Helveticus is a tourism dimension. Nature guide, artist, singer, actor, dancer, madman on the loose, prostitute... the possibilities are endless!

Note that the rank is a field in which you can put any input. Feel free to be witty original and clever but it'd be great if it reflected your character's profession.

The listed 'ranks' are only here to give you some ideas of what was sort-of want the most of, yea?

(Alright I'll level with ya, it was originally gonna be a userlevel-based system all squishered into five ranks with everything else falling under Denizen, but I decided against that. There are probably still references to that userlevel system somewhere on this page. Either ignore them or point out to me their exact location so I may EXTERRRRRMINATE. Wazpinatrrrrr... I mean...)
