Rules/FAQI hate to have these, but without them, this site would be chaos! Most of this is just general info you need to know. RULES: 1. Try to make your posts a decent length. I won't post a minimum requirement, but we expect a certain about of ability. Think of it like this--if your character doesn’t do anything, someone else’s character can’t do anything in response! 2. Be reasonable. Your character is not all powerful, if they were, we’d have heard about them in a song. These characters are meant to be people, and people have flaws, quirks, habits and imperfections. 3. Try to keep the site PG-16. I have no objection to anything above that, but keep in mind, if you are anything above that level, mark your thread with a (M) in front of or at the end of it. 4. What happens in character stays in character. If you have a fight IN character, an admin will help moderate if asked. If you have a fight OUT of character, you'll get in trouble if we hear whining about it. 5. Action against another's character (murder, theft, etc.) need to have permission from that character's roleplayer. 6. No modern weapons/items. There are no guns, there are no wristwatches. There are no cars, there are no cellphones. Magical communication spells, sure. Cell phones, no. 7. Your character needs a last name. Consequences First Offense: You'll receive a warning through site messaging. Second Offense: You'll receive another warning and be restricted to the OOC for one day. Third Offense: You will be suspended from the site for a week. Fourth/Final Offense: Your account will be deleted. FAQ: Lifebonds? -You may, if you wish, give your character a lifebond. If it’s with another person’s character, clearly, you have to have their permission. Remember that it is rare among Heralds and nearly unheard of in the general populace. NOTE: There is a possibility of an admin spontaneously posting that your character has developed a lifebond with another person’s character. I’m a Herald-Trainee Presumptive. When do I become a Herald Trainee? -Create a post somewhere, and an admin will post as a Companion Choosing you. After that point, you are responsible for your Companion. When does this roleplay take place? -During approximately 654 AF, about a hundred years before the Last Herald Mage Trilogy. Can I be related to (insertnamehere)? -To a limit. Keep in mind, this takes place before Vanyel, Talia, Lavan and the rest. You may NOT be related to anyone from the Mage Wars era, but you can, if you feel that horribly strongly about it, be an ancestor. Within limits. Each character from the book can only have one relative on this site. I haven’t read the Mercedes Lackey Valdemar books, can I still join? -Although we prefer you have read at least some of the books, it isn’t necessary so long as you understand the basic world.
