DISCLAIMERS

In no way is Dragon Riders of Kreysthahl claiming Anne McCaffrey's idea. Her Dragonriders of Pern series did inspire this RPG, but I have tried to make it as different as possible. Most notable are the appearance of the dragons, their colors, their sizes, and the fact that they could either breathe fire or ice. (On Pern, a gold dragon was the largest, on Kreysthahl, Iridescent and Silver dragons are the largest). I have also copied the idea of a dragon color that can be either male or female from Rygirl's Morning Star Heights, which has merged with Soul Heights and is now called The Heights. Thus giving Kreysthahl six primary dragon colors, Iridescent, Silver, Bronze, Blue, Red, and Green. However, like in Pern, I kept the colors Bronze, Blue, and Green. I kept Bronze because I wanted to use Gold, Silver and Bronze but opted for Iridescent, Silver and Bronze instead. I kept Blue because that is my favorite color. And I kept Green because I wanted a sort of reminder like the green grass of Earth. You have to remember that the grass on Kreysthahl is red and the soil is lavander or violet. Also, dragons on Kreysthahl have scales that are either hard and rough or soft and smooth.

Aside from getting inspiration from Dragonriders of Pern, I also got the idea of the people being planet bound from Anne McCaffrey's Crystal Singer series. However, one difference my RPG had from the Crystal Singer series is that the people actually adapted a 100% to the bacteria in the air but the result made them incapable of leaving the planet. In the series, only those who have adapted 100% to the symbiote in the planet were allowed to leave while the rest stayed as technicians.

In addition, it has been pointed out to me that the term Blue Wood is also in one of Anne McCaffrey's book called, Coelura. The term Blue Wood that used here in Kreysthahl is not at all the same thing but you should know that the term is just coincidental with totally different meanings. Another thing that has pointed out to me is the idea of being stranded in the far unknown space. Although I was thinking of Farscape at the time that I created DRK more than three years ago, it has been pointed out to me that the concept might have originated from Anne McCaffrey's book called Nimisha's Ship.

Moreover, in no way are we trying to copy any of the RPGs that have also sprung along similar lines. Obviously, since we are small, we cannot have all the Dens occupied. Once this place gets going, then we will expand to the other Dens as the need arises.
