Olympus Dragons
Your average breed of Dragon. They are the most populous breed in Olympus Weyr and its namesake.
Gemstone Dragons
The breed of dragons currently dominant in the north, evolved from Zodiacs
Sky Dragons
Currently dominant in the west, Sky dragons are the smallest of the modern dragons.
Canon Dragons
The original colors first bred by Kitty Ping. They dissappeared from Pern for a while after the mutations appeared, but then suddenly reappeared in Oly one day.
Neo-Canon Dragons
The very first mutations to appear. They reappeared after the breeding of a Canon with a non-Canon.
Abandoned Hatching Sands
Junikyu Dragons
Mysterious Dragons that appear solely in the Abandoned 'Sands. Part of a century-old type of Dragon that lived in the Weyr before a plague beset them and none survived. They have a strange connection with Between and the Snow Range...
Zodiac Dragons
Counterparts to the Junikyus, their fate is tied in with them.
Nčamh Dragons
Finishing the second generation triad to reflect the three modern breeds, Nčamhs first showed up in the clutch of an Empyrean and a Junikyu, raising questions about Dragon evolution in the centuries after the Ninth Pass.

Appearing exclusively in the Ancient Cavern, Arcadian dragons have wings reminiscent of insects, rather than the more common dragon wings.
