► WTF IS GOING ON HERE?!

Right, so... this is probably a little confusing. :D Omerta is a mob RPG based in present-day New York City. There are four major groups that your character can join, or they can be a "civilian" who isn't necessarily aligned with any certain group. You take orders from the heads of these groups, and you know better than to talk to members of certain other groups. It's basically like capture the flag, except there is no flag, and instead of sneaking around the enemy, you just get rid of him. It's bound to be a little confusing when you start, but you'll get the hang of it.

► DO WHAT YOU'RE GOOD AT

Once accepted, you'll notice a field in your profile that says "Specialties." This basically means what your character is good at in terms of their "job." For example, Haley Donnovan specializes in knives and... uh, keeping people busy. ;D (SHE MEANS SEX!) John Finnegan specializes in sharpshooting. Catherine Roseman specializes in manipulation and diplomacy, since she never kills someone herself. Really, these specialties can be anything. Hell, your character could specialize in math for all we care. You get the idea.

► DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS

Yeah. Completely untrue. Just because your character is aligned with a certain group doesn't mean you can't associate with other people. It just means you're not supposed to, but hey, it's not breaking a rule if you don't get caught, right? Right. So if your character wants to bang someone from another group, just make sure your head doesn't find out, otherwise bad things may happen.

► YOUR ADMIN IS PART OF A MOB?

Remember, the admin's name is Julia. The Kavanagh head is Juliette. They are not the same person, and I'm pretty sure Julia has never captured/tortured/killed a person, although I could be wrong. Don't get confused! ;)

► KAVAWHATIST?

The name Kavanagh, in proper Gaelic, is pronounced KAV-a-naugh. Listen!

► CAN HAS GROUP?

Unfortunately, we can't allow anyone to create another group. As you might guess, it took a while to do the existing mob pages, and trying to keep up with another two or three would be a full time job. However, the existing groups are pretty flexible and you can ask to have a specific position created within one. If you absolutely do not like any of the existing groups and still want to join, stick your character in the Civilian category. That category has absolutely no boundaries, so you should find the freedom you want in there.

► L2READ?!

Yes, Julia knows the New York Times exists, but she didn't want to just jack that, so she made up the New York Sentinel without looking if one exists. So... if it does, too damn bad. :D Deal with it.
