Kage
The Kage are the leaders of the hidden villages. There is only one Kage per village and each calls their Kage something different. Hokage (Fire Shadow, Kage of Konohagakure), Kazekage (Wind Shadow, Kage of Sunagakure), Mizukage (Water Shadow, Kage of Kirigakure), Raikage (Lightning Shadow, leader of Kumogakure), Tsuchikage (Earth Shadow, leader of Iwagakure). The Kage can be applied for if 1) Applications kick ass or 2) You have proved your worth in RP as another character. The ones struck out are taken. As well, for our purposes every village will have a leader which to call Kage, only the great five will have special names.

Sannin
A Sannin is the rank that is equal to or superior to a Kage but have not been given the position of Kage. They have earned legendary status. To some degree they answer to no one because of their rank and status in the world, however many remain loyal to their village.Sanin can be applied for if 1) Applications kick ass or 2) You have proved your worth in RP as another character.

ANBU
The ANBU are the highly specialized forces in the village. They are organized into squads and carry out specialized mission including but not limited to: assassinations, retrieval, protecting the Kage, surveillance, etc…They do the jobs no one else can or will do. The ANBU garb themselves in black or grey armour, a porcelain animal mask (while on duty), and a ANBU tattoo. Some wear a black robe or white robe (usually reserved for the captains).

Jounin
The Jounin are high ranked nin who are assigned A-rank and sometimes S-ranked missions. They are also the ones who are assigned a team of genin. Three genin per jounin. Jounin have a grasp of at least two types of elemental jutsu, they have above average genjutsu and taijutsu skills.

Tokubetsu Jounin
Basically the same as a Jounin but are specialized in one area not all. They have Jounin skill in one area and often work with Jounin on missions. Areas may include but are not limited to: extraction, surveillance, torture, etc…

Chunin
Chunin are those who have reached a level of maturity and have passed the chunin exams. They can be academy teachers or partake (or lead) small parties of shinobi on C or B ranked missions. Some may choose to wear a chunin vest.

Genin
These are the ones who have just graduated the academy (generally around 12 years of age). They are guided by a Jounin. Generally they only partake in D or C ranked missions. In extreme circumstances they may be sent on higher ranked missions.

Academy Students
The lowest rank. They haven’t graduated the academy yet and are being prepared for their final exam on their way to become a genin. It is at this stage were basic jutsu and weapon skills

Hunter-nin
These nin are used to track down and dispose of missing nin from their village. After killing their target the head is removed and taken as proof. The body is disposed of through various methods in order to protect village secrets. Hunter-nin tend to wear a porcelain mask much like ANBU.

Medical-Nin
These are the doctors of the Nin world. They are trained to avoid injuries to themselves and heal others with chakra. High intelligence and massive chakra control is required. They are an assist both with in the hidden villages and on missions since they increase the survival rate of their fellow shinobi.

Nukenin
These nin have forsaken their village and have left to pursue their own way. They are hunted by their own village but sought after by other villages (for information they may hold). They general scratch a horizontal line across their forehead protectors signifying their desertion. A select few may be picked up by Akatsuki. Akatsuki can not be applied for until after application has been accepted. If you want to be in Akatsuki make a note in your application (such as "would like to eventually be Akatsuki). After accepted one can politely request to be made Akatsuki, do not hound the Admin, we dislike it. Or simply contact one of the admin through the ad and/or CBOX inside of the site.
