May we indulge you....Read on please

As I walk the street alone at night I happened upon something I had not seen before. Standing not to far from my path was a man, or maybe he wasn’t a man at all. He had raven wings and looked as though he may not even be there, a translucent quality graced his pale skin. As I tried to walk closer he vanished before my eyes, before he did so he nodded his head and smiled a ghastly smile. Where he had stood I saw a piece of parchment on the ground. It looked as it might fall it’s quality certainly ancient and on it I read,

“Welcome Dear Friends, If you walk the streets alone at night, you are accustomed to the feeling, the feeling that someone may be watching you from the shadows. It is that feeling that I live off of the feeling that maybe I am not alone and someone is watching, patiently waiting for me to be ready to befriend him. I was cast down to this city bringing with me nothing put pain and suffering, poverty and strife. What was once green and lush in now a labyrinth of grey and decay. The city is my haven, my punishment, and now my home. I was once called the ‘Raven Angel’ now I am just another one of you wandering the streets neither truly here nor gone. My wings have been tattered and my face is now pale, any sense of majesty has been lost to me. I wander through this city as a figment of its imagination or perhaps I am its keeper. If you see me wandering come be my friend for I am the reason for your pain. But be quick if you catch a glimpse for I may wander where no other can follow. I am the spirit of Raven City, and I bid you welcome. I hate to be alone so the more that come the more I can fill the void.
Sincerely,”

The was no signature to inclination to who might had written it. I often search the city at night trying to find the man again, or was he an angel. I have caught glimpses and heard whispers but never as close as that night. I reread the note every night before I turn out the lights, and lay awake pondering. Is he the reason none can find happiness here, I thought such things to be legend. But all legends are based in fact. So I leave you to ponder just as I have, Do you look for the raven angel and dare step inside his city?
