I have compiled a few of the most frequently asked questions on the site. I hope they answer most if not all of your questions before joining. If you have any other questions please feel free to e-mail me or add me to msn epona_64@hotmail.com
"HELP! My application was not accepted!"
Please review the following:
a) Did you read the rules thoroughly? We do not accept people who do not read the rules.
b) Was your RP sample adequate? Excessively long samples will not be bothered with, short 1 paragraph lacking substance will be deleted upon site and no rp sample, well you know. Declined.
c) Did it submit? Sometimes the server has problems and your application does not submit properly. Please look for the paragraph on how the web master reviews each application.
d) Note: Just because your RP sample has sex in it doesn't make it good for this site. Please make a sample tasteful. Would you apply for an office job with your boobs hanging out of your shirt or your pants around your ankles? I think not. Use common sense!
How did the site get the name “Raven City”?
Raven city was the original name of the original site. Originally it did have a main character and a plot based around one angel played by one of my old and long gone admin’s. It was named for the plot of the angel with the raven coloured wings falling from heaven and turning the peaceful oasis the city once was into a damned hellhole it is today.
Who are the administrators?
We have had many administrators over the lifespan of this site. Our main admin would be the mistress Kinky. Kinky does the upkeep including all coding, layouts and keeping members happy. She is the founder of the site and idea. Jak is one of the three original administrators. He has been with the site since day one and can answer any questions. He is also quite acknowledgeable in coding. Twisted is one of our long time members since we have moved to acornrack. He has always been around to roleplay and is very popular with a lot of our members. He is also here to answer any questions or solve any problems you might have.
What time frame is the city in?
Ravencity is on modern time. Although cars, buses, trains and other modern transportation exist the main mode of travel is walking. Main streets are paved nice but side streets are cracked and sometimes steam rises from them. Clothing is in whatever form your character wants. Tv exists but not many watch it. broadcasts include horrible soap operas and the crime and poverty on the news.
What races are allowed?
Many races are allowed on raven city. I try to stray away from “non human” creatures and stay on the immortal and mortal beings of the world and underworld. We originally started with humans, fallen angels and vampires but now have expanded to demons, succubus, incubus, anthro’s and were-creatures. More may be added in the future
What is the most dominant or strongest race:
There isn't any dominant race on ravencity. They all have their ups and downs.
What race can I join as right away?
You can join as a human. Either male, female, master or slave. You are NOT allowed to play a race you have not been issued. All other ranks are awarded to members for various reasons. Under no circumstance do race changes be given to new members on the site because they simply asked for them. We strive to create a fun site that works to improve the writer and creative thinker in all of us.
What ranks are available to me?
Master OR slave. There are several other ranks such as mistress, duke and a few distinct ones but they are for the elite members of the site (AKA admin/mods/members with distinction)
If my character is a master can he/she own more than one slave?"
Yes. We do not limit how many slaves one character has or if a slave wants to have more than one master.
How do I change my characters race or rank?
Changing your rank from a master or slave or vice versa you simply have to message Kinky and ask for it.
If you want to change your race you have three options.
One: Send in an outstanding RP sample of your character playing the requested race
Two: Win one of our sites contests. They require no RP sample (excluding fallen angel) or become mayor. After a mayors time in office he/she gets whatever race he/she so chooses as a reward for services to the site.
Three: You get chosen by Kinky for an outstanding activity, writing skill and site participation.
Can I have more than one character on my account?
Yes. Whatever race you are issued you can have as many male, female, master or slave characters you wish (exclusion to fallen angels, they can not become masters) You are free to make as many accounts as you want so long as you log in on them.
So that means if I have a demon rank I can have a vampire sub character?
This is forbidden. Whatever race you have, you may only have characters of that race (male, female, master or slave) and human. Got that? (Exclusion to a few members that have shown me outstanding membership and writing skills. Their profile should state that they have been allowed by Kinky, if not it is a reportable offense)
Can my character be part one race and part another?
No. This is forbidden. To have so many hybrids (hybrid being a creature of two or more racial backgrounds. IE: half vampire half human, half demon half anthro)is very confusing and makes the site way to complicated. For now and most likely the rest of the future we will only have characters that are pure, as in one race not some freaky super creature that has a vampire arm, a demon leg and so forth.
But what if my characters dad is a human and it's mom a werewolf?
Nope, sorry. No acceptations to having a character of two races. You pick either or. Or better yet tell your characters parents not to fornicate in the first place
I joined as one name but decided I want another, can I change my user name?
Of course. Please message Kinky or one of our other admin’s or mod’s with your new or modified name. We do not allow users to have access to changing their own names for the purpose of keeping track of everyone. We found that provided members had access to being able to change their usernames people got a little over zealous and started to change their name every chance they got. It became really confusing.
If my character is a slave and doesn’t get bought in the market where else can I RP?
Anyplace you want. Slaves are not strictly forced to sell themselves or be sold in the market. Hell you may even find a master as you wander the streets. Slaves also do not have to be enslaved and masters do not have to own them. It is up to you what you do with your character, regardless of his or her status but since this is a slave/master website we hope that you would want to be enslaved/dominate.
I see that a lot of people use "anime" for their character images. Is this required or can I use actual photographs?
It is totally up to you as an individual as to what your images are or what your character looks like. If you want an anime character feel free or if you want a real person as your character be my guest. As for weird hair colours, eye colours or unbelievably tall or short it's again, up to you.
Can my character have a job or career on this site?
Most certainly. Your character may work wherever he/she wants. If someone does however own the place (will say in the description in forums) you will have to ask him/her first. Other careers include anything from a hobo, richard simmons look alike, rapist, assassin, vampire hunter, hobo and whatever else your mind lets you create
Help! I can't use the c-box!!
Our c-box (and whole site) is paid for. You have to register yourself to the c-box by clicking "profile" under the "go" button at the bottom of the c-box. Any further problems with this feel free to contact the admin. (note: some firewalls will block the c-box)
