The price of slaves

Due to popular demand we now have a pricing guide. The following are just guidelines and are to help those that are confused about how much they should auction their characters for. All money is in real day currency (so dollars instead of gold/silver) When we give an age range sometimes this does not apply (vampires, demons etc) So in this case how physically/mentally fit they are in this age category.

Age groups

Infants and children $25-$100: They range in age from newborn to twelve years old. Some children were taken by auctioneers to pay off a parents debt. They were either stolen into or born into slavery. A lot of children are used as assistants for a wealthy masters child but most are to be trained for a life of servitude.

Teenagers $50-$500: Their age is thirteen to nineteen. A lot of these teens were born/stolen into slavery. They are growing into the slaves they will be for the rest of their lives. A lot of them already do jobs that adult slaves can do or are following in the footsteps of a mentor slave. The odd ones are used for pleasure but not many. Some of these may still be the slaves of masters children.

Adults $150- $2000 (Very rarely above this): Their age range is twenty to fifty or whenever before that the slave is no longer capable of carrying out it’s task intended. They can be anything from pleasure slaves, housekeepers, cooks, nannies, breeding slaves, slaves for other slaves, managing businesses, nurses, you name it and they can do it. This is the most in demand age for slaves as they are in the prime of their lives fitness and mental capacity wise.

Elderly $25-$2000 (Very rarely above this): They range in age from 50+ years. They are far past their prime however still useful. A lot of them are kept around and even given more honorary roles such as teaching the younger slaves how to behave. Often times they will even have their own slaves appointed by their masters. They make excellent cooks and housekeepers and even nurses and caring for children including newborns. Whatever their jobs were to get to this age without dieing or getting killed they are usually really good at it.

Specific traits:

Broken slave: They have been trained for a specific task and do it faithfully (most of the time). A broken slave is an asset for new and beginning masters.

Unbroken slave: This can range from a slave that is still in training or a slave that has never had any training. Either way they are on the road to becoming obedient. Some listen better than others. Some masters buy unbroken slaves just for the extra profit of training and re-selling them. Masters can often make a living if they are good at training unruly or unbroken slaves.

Wild slaves: These slaves can come from all over the world usually. They have no concept of slavery and are often vicious and will take any chance to harm the ones trying to push them around. They are the most challenging slaves to master but they can be exotic if handled right. They are on the very low end of the price scale regardless of their age.

Escaped slaves: They have escaped, been caught, escaped again and been caught again and again. They have either never been properly broken or have reasons such as an abusive master to keep running away. Rarely anyone wants a slave that will test their masters security every chance they get.

Pleasure slaves: They often fetch a higher dollar if they are a virgin. Some masters take delight in being a slaves “first”. Equally as valuable would be a pleasure slave very experienced and skilled in the bedroom department. A sum is usually higher to pay for a well known pleasure slave.

Breeding slave: A slave that has shown it has what it takes in any of the fields can be used for spawning future generations of slaves. (slave x slave or slave x master but it is considered taboo for the master to claim the child as his/her offspring with the slave).

Housework slaves: They do everything from your wash to cook, fix broken things and bake. Slaves that know how to sew or fix things can be valuable to some businesses as well as ones that can cook. Depending on their skill they can fetch a high dollar but just housework slaves (laundry/sweeping/dusting etc) are common and fetch a lower sum.

Trade skills: They may be trained to be a police officer, bar tender or waitress (etc) but they know their task. They are often trained like an employee is but without the wages and benefits.

Child care: Elderly slaves often take care of the breeding slaves children and often the masters children too. They are kind and caring and have often had many children to add to their knowledge of childcare. They are like the nanny’s of the slave world. However if good at the skill they are not limited to the elderly.

Fighting slaves: Fighting slaves are highly trained in different disciplines of combat depending on their intent. A majority of them are specifically produced and bred at "fighting kennels' all across the land. There are even 'name-brand' fighters with champion lines. They are, however, considered by most to be more animal than human, and are often treated just as you would a fighting dog. They are kept under lock and heavy chain constantly for fear of their strength and skill, and indeed many a escaped fighting slave has been slaughtered for being alone, sometimes having been considered a loose dangerous weapon. Their lives are not pleasant, and beatings are not rare, but a champion is often highly valued. These slaves are bred, so pick your lines carefully, and depending on how many fights they've won, their prices can skyrocket. (Fighting slaves written by Milikan)

Different breeds: Some masters who have a heavy pocket of money desire a slave of a different breed. Masters that are human have to be careful and know how to handle slaves of the race they bought. Many a citizen in raven has died because of their ignorance on how different races can be. They will usually cost A LOT more than a human slave and can be trained/untrained in any of the above.
