General Out of Character
o Respect at all times; for other members, admins, et cetera.
o Keep your IC grudges IC.
o Keep your OOC to the OOC boards.
o Plagiarism is unacceptable, as is any form of stealing.
o Keep swearing to a minimum - however the "eff" word is simply unacceptable.
o Accounts not logged into for two weeks will be subject to deletion, pending a spontaneous activity check. Post an away notice if you want your account(s) saved!
o Leads will be automatically de-ranked if they have not posted in two weeks' time; three weeks', if an absence is posted beforehand.
o Changes in rank are easily executed. Simply go to your account setup and click the 'Request a Rank Change' link. If valid, it should be updated within a day or two.

General Ideas
o One Assia season lasts for two weeks. The seasons are: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
o Alpha is the highest rank, followed by Lead, then Beta.
o The three alignments are Light, Neutral, and Dark. They each hold their respective beliefs, and take to them especially in times of war. Stereotypically speaking, Lights fights for what is right, Neutrals to survive, and Darks to wreak havoc or discontent. Alignment, however, is not necessarily an indicator of one's personality and should not always be seen a thus.
o A foal matures into a horse at age three, but breeding is slightly different (See below).
o With height, please try and keep the height of your horse realistic.
o There are no "mythicals" here.

Breeding
o Only male/female pairings are allowed.
o Mares may only mate (for foals) once per Assian year.
o Mares may mate once they are four years or over, stallions may mate at three years or over.
o Breeding out of season (i.e. in Autumn, winter) will most likely result in a stillborn or miscarriage.
o Breeding may occur anywhere.
o Graphic breeding is allowed, but graphic posts must include ***'s in the title.
o Force breeding is allowed, but the mare must be allowed to fight back. The force breed must be agreed upon by both role-players. No god-moding/power-playing (see Fighting Rules).
o There are no alignment restrictions. Darks may mate with Lights and vice versa. Neutrals may mate with Light/Dark or Neutral. The alignment of the foal will be determined by whoever decides to RP the foal.

Challenging
o Alphas cannot be challenged for their land.
o Horses can challenge to fight for fun, mares, land or ranks.
o Both stallions and mares may challenge for lead ranks.
o All challenges must be made at Dark Gorge, and the challenger must message his/her opponent to notify them.
o If a challenge is unanswered after 5 days, the challenger automatically wins. Fights for herds/mates/lands that do not have a discernible outcome IC will be judged by an Admin OOC.
o If the player of the character is absent (they must post on the Absence board before the challenge is issued), then they cannot be challenged until they return (so long as it is not longer than two weeks).
o Inter-alliance challenges for mares or fun are permitted, however a dark stallion cannot challenge a light stallion for land and vice versa.
o In a challenge, every post must be replied to within 5 days - if a reply is not completed within 5 days, the player who failed to post automatically loses.
o After losing a challenge, a period of two weeks must pass before any counter-challenges can be made.

Claiming
o Inter-alliance claims are not permitted. A dark horse must claim a dark herd land and a light horse must claim a light herd land.
o Neutrals may join the neutral herd, or join another herd as well. If they wish to challenge for or claim a light/dark land, they must change neutrality to do so. (*Note: with the exception of admin approval, or a site-wide plot.)
o A mare/stallion may refuse one claim or multiple claims if they choose. They are not forced into a herd.
o To claim a herd that has not been taken, simply make an IC post on the herd's board. Once completed, request a rank change and when the request has been accepted, the herd is yours. The claiming of open herds operates on a first come, first serve basis.
o Upon claiming a herdland, you may make a thread on your board with a herd list and rules. Post the link to this thread on the updates board, and an admin or mod will sticky it for you.

Fighting
o Fighting must not occur in areas where it is explicitly forbidden.
o No god-moding or power-playing! .
o Admins will judge all fights (and challenges) fairly, based on IC actions, role-playing ability and the date replies are posted.
o Killing is only allowed only if both players have agreed. An Admin must also be informed of the agreement (make sure you both message the same Admin or post this on the board!).

Foaling
o Once your horse(s) have bred, each the sire and dam must post their own stats at the Newborn Ditch and wait for the dice roll to decide the foal's fate. You must post all the info submitted from the form stickied on the board.
o All foals will be born exactly one real-life month after the stats have been posted.
o All foal stats will be decided by an Administrator at Newborn Ditch (with the trusty dice!) and are unchangeable. This is a game and not every foal can be born perfect or just the color you desire. The Admin team will be fair in selecting the stats (other than the gender, which relies in the dice).
o A stillborn or miscarriage is created if the parents do not post at Newborn Ditch, and there is also a special dice combination that will cause a stillborn.
o Twins are rare, but possible with a certain dice combination.
o Please bear in mind that it is your responsibility to make sure the foals stay active, or else give them to someone else, or offer them up for adoption.
o Mares can only foal once per year.
o Fillies and colts become adults at 3 years. However, young mares cannot breed until the age of four.

Leading
o Leads that are inactive for more than two weeks IC will automatically be de-ranked. If you will be going on OOC absence for longer than this period of time, please arrange for someone (beta, leadess, etc.) to guard the lands until your return - and post this in your absence thread so we know. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with the Lead rank, so you must be prepared to stay active and do your herd justice. (This rule does not apply to alpha herds.)
o Horses can only be the lead of one herd at a time.
o Each lead has three betas, to watch over the three subsections of their territory.
o Betas are subject to the rules of the lead, but are most often granted "perks".
o You may only role-play two lead horses at one time. (*subject to change, pending activity)

* Everyone will be given one chance. Repeat offenders of misconduct will be banned indefinitely and listed on the warnings page. *
